5 Ways to Improve WellBeing in 2023

The new year is a powerful time for intention setting. With 2023 coming in strong in just a day, let’s set an intention to make our wellbeing a priority. Looking for practical ways to do that? Keep reading for 5 ways to improve wellbeing in 2023.

1. Sleep! Get more of it. It’s so important. Make getting more quality sleep a non-negotiable.

This is a work in progress for me too! I’m currently reading “Why We Sleep” by Matthew Walker, PhD. If you’re like me, you can feel the difference great rest makes. This book unlocks the science behind that on an entirely different level in an easily digestible way. “There does not seem to be one major organ in the body, or process within the brain, that isn’t optimally enhanced by sleep (and detrimentally impaired when we don’t get enough).”

Quality rest is an important pillar of health. Get more of it in 2023!

2. Eat the rainbow…of the fresh food sort. Incorporate more fresh foods into your day. What does a ‘balanced diet’ look and feel like for you?

If the majority of your diet consists of processed and/or fast foods, replace one meal with a fresh food dish. Contact me or comment below if you’d like ideas for quick, minimal ingredient dishes.  I got you! ;).  If you’re already incorporating plenty of fresh foods or you eat the rainbow daily…YAY!

3. Get outside. The Wind and Sun are medicine. Simply being in nature is healing. The breeze can cleanse your energy of you ask it to :).

Sunlight is a superfood for our bodies. It helps to strengthen our immune system, boosts mood, improves sleep, combats Vitamin D deficiency, among many other benefits. It’s essential to our wellbeing.

Being in nature is healing. Being in nature with friends…even better!

4. Return to your spiritual practices or create one. A spiritual practice doesn’t need to look a certain way. It is yours and yours alone.

There’s no wrong way to cultivate a connection with Spirit. Return to yours, add to it, experiment with different paths, combine them, create it. Set the intention then set aside a few moments each day to connect.

5. Move your body! It likes when you do that thing you do. Dance like no one is watching, take a walk, do a 15 minute HIIT workout, hula hoop, skate…just get moving.

Movement is a way to connect with the body, release endorphins and relieve stress.  Movement helps move emotions through the body, boosts mood, and is great for our hearts too!

Get moving…in whatever way is fun for YOU :).

If you find any one of the above or maybe even all 5 resonate with you, I’d love to hear about it! Don’t be shy to comment below. I hope you’re inspired to either begin or continue to put yourself and your wellbeing first in the coming year.

Wishing you the happiest of holidays!
